Hawthorn is a flowering shrub or tree of the rose family. It grows in temperate regions throughout the world. Hawthorn is used to help protect against heart disease and help control high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Both animal and human studies suggest hawthorn increases coronary artery blood flow, improves circulation, and lowers blood pressure.

Hawthorn is traditionally used in herbal preparations to:

Hawthorn contains oligomeric procyanidins, flavonoids (including vitexin-2-rhamnoside) and other compounds. This product is standardized to contain 6.01 mg of vitexin-2-rhamnoside per tablet to ensure optimal strength and quality.
