CloseNutraMedix Teasel is a hydro-ethanol extract made from teasel root (Dipsacus fullonum)-, also known as Dipsacus sylvestris. Once assigned to the Dipsacaceae family, teasel became part of the Caprifoliaceae family when it merged with Dipsacaceae.1 Teasel is native to Europe and Northwestern Africa. Common names include fuller’s teasel, barber’s brush, brushes and combs, cardo de cardar (card thistle), chardon des forêts (forest thistle), and cabaret des oiseaux (cabaret of the birds).
Teasel root contains polyphenols such as chlorogenic acid and dicaffeoylquinic acid; iridoids such as cantleyoside and sylvestroside; and hederagenin-type, oleanane-type, and ursane-type terpenoids. The caffeic acid derivatives, iridoids, and triterpenoids are known for antioxidant and microbial support. NutraMedix Teasel is made at our U.S. manufacturing facility using a specialized proprietary extraction process that optimizes the constituents of the herbs in their original, unprocessed state to obtain broad-spectrum concentration. Because
our extracts are made in our own facility, we control all aspects of quality, including stringent ID testing, microbial testing, and heavy-metal testing. NutraMedix rigorously follows current
good manufacturing practices (cGMP), as do our suppliers.
Microbial Support
Teasel root extract may help with microbial support, as does the leaf extract. The constituent phytol may help with microbial support as well as healthy inflammatory-response support.
